The 2018 Lincoln Navigator: Refinement at its Finest

Since 1998, the Lincoln Navigator has been one of America’s favorite full-size SUVs. Built largely on the same platform of the Ford Expedition, the Lincoln Navigator has all of the room and functionality of the Ford Expedition, but luxury is one of the top-selling points of the vehicle.

The Lincoln Navigator has a refreshed model, being released in 2018, just 20 years after the original SUV became available to the public. The SUV is widely known already for its luxury, but also for its power. The 2018 Lincoln Navigator will be made from aluminum to help reduce its weight, and will become sleeker to help improve its aerodynamics.

Six passengers will be able to comfortably fit into the 2018 Lincoln Navigator, and the interior has been re-designed to display its luxury features. Wood trim and polished bright aluminum will line the interior to resemble a similar concept of luxury boats and yachts. The six large seats are made of premium leather and look like chairs, adjustable in 30 ways, and the rear portion of each seat has its own console.

Furthermore, some of the interior features included are a large touch screen display that supports Apple CarPlay, a premium sound system, 3-dimensional navigation, 4G connections are now supported, wireless chargers are available as well as automatic climate control.

We know that you’ll love the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. Stay tuned to find out when you can sign up for a test-drive.

Ensure You’re Getting the Most Bang for Your Buck When It Comes to Summer Fuel Economy

Contrary to popular belief, the summertime is actually a time when your fuel economy may increase. Since the warmer weather causes your engine to warm up quicker to an efficient temperature, your engine doesn’t have to work as hard to get where it needs to be for drivability.

LP Ford Lincoln - July 29.jpg

Unfortunately, summertime also calls for windows being rolled down and air conditioning blasting, which could ultimately lower your fuel economy if you’re not careful.

Take a look at these steps to improve fuel economy in hot weather from our friends at the U.S. Department of Energy:

  • Roll the windows down while traveling at lower speeds; use the AC at highway speeds.
  • Don’t use the AC more than needed or set the temperature lower than needed.
  • Park in the shade or use a sunshade so that the cabin doesn’t get as hot.
  • Drive with the windows open for a short time before using the AC. Letting hot air out of the cabin first will put less demand on the AC and help your vehicle cool faster.
  • Don’t idle with the AC running before driving. Turn the AC on after you begin to drive or after airing out the cabin briefly. Most AC systems will cool the vehicle faster while driving.
  • Read your owner’s manual. Most manuals explain how the AC system controls work and how to best use and maintain the AC system.4
  • For plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles, pre-cooling the cabin while plugged into the charger can extend your vehicle’s range. Also, using a warmer temperature setting for the AC will use less battery power.

For more summer fuel economy tips, contact our Service Department to schedule an appointment to confirm that there is nothing else you can do to ensure better fuel economy.
